Starter kit is boxed with all paperwork, WiFi adaptor isn't boxed but has original instructions. Contains starter kit which is one powerline adaptor which plugs in near your router (includes ethernet cable), and a second adaptor to use at a distant plug socket (also includes ethernet cable). Also includes a separate WiFi adaptor which has two ethernet ports for wired connectivity but also provides a wireless signal acting as a signal booster. We tried the standard WiFi repeaters first but found them difficult to set up and didn't really have an area of the house that had good enough signal to boost to the 'dark' areas but these powerline adaptors were fab, easy to set up and ideal for the job, were used for less than a year as we were in a rented house and now moving abroad. Although it says they shouldn't be plugged into extension leads, both of ours were and we had no issues..
